It's Snowing in the Jungle

Yula FineSmith has done it again.  She has created a simple but stunning piece that will make you look so exotic and lovely with any outfit you wear.  This amazing piece is the new group gift that was released yesterday.  It is called SnowFlake Bindi.    It is such a beautiful piece, where ever you go, you will be sure to catch attention.  The many options of color, texture and gems makes this item possible to be worn for every outfit you own. It is a good thing because you won't want to take it off!

Taking time to enjoy the trees

Well, I have decided to post some of my older pictures that I have.  I keep procrastinating on taking some more pictures, not that I do not want to share with you it just seems there is so much to do.  I promise I will do it soon but my plate seems to be full lately and some days there is even more then I thought, but I promise as soon as I am able I will share some great finds and items I own that I just love and want to share with you.  For now I will show you a couple of things that I have ready.  I won't do it all in one post because that would be to much I think lol.  Sorry If some of the images are not that wonderful to you, so far I have done all my own photos.  I know with practice I will get much better and learn some more tricks.

The outfit that I am wearing in both of these images is one of my favorite group gift outfits from Purple Moon.  If you have not heard, seen, or visited this store it is a must.  It is one of my favorite places to shop.  The pieces are so lovely, you must go see for yourself.

I can not believe that I forgot about this.  I was asked to model for a shoot for one of the In the Flash pieces from Finesmith Jewlery.  Unfortunatly the images did not come out so well and the jewlery was not standing out as much as the designer wanted so they could not be used :(.  But thats ok I know I was originally chosen  to model for the piece.  That thought brings me great confidence that I really am a great model.

I think that should be good for today lol.  I dont want to put to much all at once.  Like I said I promise to take more pictures when I have a chance becasue I have some pieces I want to show you that I just HAVE to share :)

The Wild is so Aesthetically Pleasing

Today was an interesting day for me inworld.  I actually had not planned to be in world but fate seemed to be on my side once again. As manager for FineSmith Designs I was invited to watch and support a showing for FineSmith Jewlery displayed by O.G.   What I expected was the same walk down the catwalk but on a different and exciting stage.  Today I was in for a treat for the show was of a jewlery box filled with ballerinas.  Each time the box opened to show three ballerinas they wore different FineSmith Jewlery.  It was so lovely.  The display was stunning and creative.  It never ceases to amaze me as to how many ways you can wear FineSmith Jewelry.  The makeup was provided by Lovely.  It was so beautiful I was left speechless.  All I could say was wow, amazing, gorgeous, stunning and beautiful.  Ok maybe not speechless but I was so impressed that I know this experience will stay with me for a very long time.  If you get a chance you must see a showing by O.G. for it truly is one of a kind.  I look forward to seeing more creative and delightful shows by them.

I was so bewitched by the display that I completely forgot to take photos of the event.  I have found some images on the FineSmith Jewelry Flickr.  Here are some of the photos, I would recommend going to the website to see the rest of the images.

Aren't they lovely !!!

Just when I thought I caught the Lion

Today was the last week for for the FineSmith Stylista Challenge.  Of course I thought I had a winning outfit. The theme was Fashion Icon so I decided to do Coco Chanel.  I believed my outfit was a combination of both me and Chanel.  I really love my outfit even if I did not win.  I think it is very stylish and has a bit of cute in it lol ! ..... What do you guys think?

For those of you who were not there I will share my description and photos {taken by Xenobia Foxclaw, I believe she took all the picture of the models during all of the challenges, but i could be wrong} of my outfit.   Let me know what you think.

Week 10 - Fashion Icon

My description: When I learned that the theme was fashion Icon, I knew instantly I had to turn to Chanel.  She has been such a profound influence in fashion that I knew she would be the perfect designer.  My outfit today is  the spirit of Chanel.  I decided to do the clean cut but very fashionable side of Chanel.  The outfit I chose to be inspired by in choosing my outfit  was the quilted lady suit and her infamous layers of pearls.  I chose to mix and match myoutfit that best fits me and Chanel's fashion styling. I chose to wear a short jacket instead of a full length that matched Chanel's quilted outfit.    I wore a long sweater underneath because I felt it added to the idea of warmth from the quilted material.   My hat and hair shows more of Chanel in my styling but a touch of me with the curls. My nails and rings are silver to match the grey tones in my outfit.  I wear today a skirt that is my style and Chanel's together, the skirt reminded me of the many layers Chanel's outfits can have whether its jewelry or the clothing.  I wear blue pumps to match the short quilted jacket .   I was inspired by Chanel's layers of pearls but instead I used a girls best friend, diamonds!!  I chose to wear Elle earrings and layer the Diamond Fever necklace and the Ice necklace.

Prowling the catwalk

For each week of the F.S. Stylista Challenge you have to pick an outfit {have at least one item of FineSmith Jewelry} and write a description  of why you chose the items you are wearing.

This is what I have worn for the challenges I have participated in so far:

Week 5 - Classic

My Description: The word classic has such a wide range of meaning.  Most recognize the meaning of classic a authentic, elegance, beauty, graceful, divine, excellence and historically memorable.

When I thought about these words and what classic meant to me I instantly thought of Marilyn Monroe.  She will forever be a timeless classic and who better person then she to sum up these words.  Even her life was a classic story "from rags to riches".  Marilyn Monroe will always be someone to look to when we want to be inspired to be full of style, grace, and classic taste.  To best show her classic style I wear today her famous white dress by Vita Bella, Mia by Analog dog to show her beautiful locks of bleach blonde hair,  Lizzi Lashes by Dime Piece, her  lovely white high heels to show off her great legs named Pretty Feet by Diva's shoes  and last but not least  Idioma a dazzling but elegant piece by FineSmith Designs.

Shoes:  Pretty Feet - Diva's Shoes

Week 6 - Avante-Garde

My Description: Avant-Garde is bring something new  and innovative.  It is usually used when speaking of art, that is no longer methodical but is radical .  Today the innovation is me.  I am no longer a science , but a piece of art in fashion.  I have become a piece of artwork from the items I wear.  Each item has become a part of me, whether embedded in my skin, or clothing my body.  I have altered my body to become the frame, the paint, and the entity in this composition.  I have become the background, the foreground and the illustration.  Today I stand before you as not a woman in eccentric clothing, but as an innovative painting in fashion.

Feathers: Peacock Dangerous - Eternal Beauty
Jewelry:
Chest Piece and Earrings: Victorian Secret - FineSmith Design

Week 8 - White

My description:   When I thought of white all I could think about was the winter season and what that means to me.  For some, like me, winter means snow, ice and the holiday season.  When I think of snow I think about how its is light, airy and delicate it is.  With one touch it can cease to exist.

The Victorian Secret piece by Finesmith I wear on my chest reminds me of a snow flake and how delicate it is which is why I felt it fit most with my white theme.  The snow cuffs and pants by RFyre I felt had that icy feel which corresponded with my theme.  The top and snow pieces from Costume Creations help portray my idea of snow, making not only the snow but me seem light, airy and delicate.

To help me show my idea of the holiday season, when I think of white, I used the Happy Head Antlers by CaLLie cLine because they look like they are carved from ice.  To me they also look like the dendrites of a snowflake and  to me they can also represent Christmas. They represented the antlers from a reindeer on Santa's sleigh and my suede Prestige boots by Bax Cohen represent the fur on a reindeer.  The ornaments that hang from the antlers act like those you hang from a Christmas tree.

To delve more into the Christmas holiday season, I chose to wear the Victorian Secret by Finesmith because I felt it looked like a snowflake.   Last but not least but who can forget the present that we receive and give to our loved ones during the holiday season, for this I chose to wear the Glance earrings by Finesmith because to me they looked like little silver wrapped present you would find under the tree on Christmas morning.  I believe that my outfit like a snowflake is unique, fun, but delicate and portrays some of the many meanings of the color white.

Pants & Cuffs: Snow Queen - RFyre
Top and Snowflake pieces: Ice Maiden - Costume Creation
Jewelry:
     Earrings: Glance - FineSmith Design

Week 9 - Contemporary

My description: For my outfit today, when I thought about contemporary, I thought about geometric shapes, edges, and lines.  I tried to keep my outfit simple yet voiceful.  I kept my colors neutral and most like nature.  You will always find these colors and shapes where ever you look.  My outfit is compiled from Baiastice the lines of the shoulders fit with edges and shape.  My shoes by glad Rags shows the form and bends in shape and what they form.  Last but not Least  I wore The Kagami jewelry adds emphasis and pizazz to my outfit with large shapes and adds to my style. I feel this jewlery defines the lines, shape and edges that are my outfit.

!Wish me luck on the last open challenge for FineSmith Stylista!

In search of my lion

As a new model trying to put her face out into the this Jungle, I was always looking for a way to let the world know that I have arrived lol!  I was very fortunate to have met many models who were so helpful and steered me into the right direction.  One of my friends helped me find FineSmith Designs for my choice of jewelry that I had worn for the QuickSand ad.  I was so amazed with the quality and details of the items I knew I wanted to be a part of this.  I saw that there were castings to become a FineSmith Diva, a live model, and I of course jumped on the opportunity.  I was so happy that I was chosen to be a part of this great propriety.  After working there for a few days I learned that there were challenges being hosted by FineSmith Designs.  For 10 weeks a theme is chosen and models, experienced or not, can join and show their creativity and style.  With each outfit you must say a description of why you chose this outfit and how it fits to the theme of that weeks challenge.  Each week a winner is chosen to be in the 11th week to be the top stylista. I was so happy that this opportunity presented itself to me and of course joined as soon as I could.  I have been in 4 challenges and there is only one left.  I hope I win this last week so that I will have a chance to be part of the finals for the FineSmith Stylista.

Wandering on the edge

Like most I had no idea what or where to go to start my career as a model.  I joined a few groups and prayed that a notice would pop up about a casting I would be able to do.  It seemed luck was on my side because not a few hours later I saw a notice for a casting.  I was so excited, it was for an ad for a skin store called Quicksand by Rawr Adored.  I must have been crazy because I did not even know how to walk let alone actually do a casting.  But I was confident I could do it, and thought to myself if not now when.  So I went out bought a couple of poses, but on a urban and funky but stylish outfit and set to walk on the catwalk.  When the time came, I was so nervous, I thought i was going to run, but I relaxed and stuck with it.  Thank goodness that I did because I was chosen as one of the models for the ad !!!!! So not only did I dress to impress on my first try but I landed my first print offer.  I was so happy and excited I knew this was the start of an amazing experience in my SL life as a model.

I am second from the bottom ;)

Stepping into the Jungle

Of course, it is always scary and exciting trying something new.  We must always be confident with whatever paths and journeys we embark on and make sure to look both ways on our decisions.  Unfortunately, I find that I do not practice what I preach at times.  For this time I have jumped in face first into this jungle we call fashion.  I decide some cold day in October that I would pursue my passion for fashion, cliche but still true.  I will share my experiences as a model and of course delightful fashion finds as I walk, crawl, stumble and even fly through the Jungle of Mode.
